Welland Steam Rally Country Show
24th to 26th July 2015

The 51st Welland Steam Rally Country show run by the Ross on Wye Steam Engine Society started on Friday 24th and ended on the 26th July 2015.

On the Friday was the auction which had a large amount of items to be bidded for. However down came the rain, but this didn't spoil the day.  My pic in the auction was a fountain which was shipped over from the Colgate Toothpaste family in America which auctioned for 3,000.00 plus fees.

On the Saturday came the sun and it was a glorious day, with over 45 Steam Engines, 23 of them being Showman engines which glistened when their lights were on. There was an antique fairground, dancers, singers, magicians, aerialists, beer tent and the Bay City Rollers were the main band, however they were not my cup of tea. The night came to a close with a fantastic firework display and disco.

On Sunday the weather was dismal and the arena and grounds became boggy, then the show was shut down early. I felt sorry for the organisers and the traders. Let's hope next year is kinder with the weather. There were so many beautiful cars there that it was difficult to choose, however my pic of the show was this 1951 Austin A40 Sports convertible. Well done to the owner Tony Eades from Gloucestershire.
