GWENT MG OWNERS CLUB

Weston Super Mare

Three MG Roadsters, one RS 2000, a Triumph Herald and new members John & Rosie in their MG Midget set off from Magor Service’s with Sterling Moss in his white Roadster leading. No sooner had we left, we arrived at the Beech Lawns where Darren and his Granada were waiting, shortly after 0930hrs.

After a fight with the shelter in the wind, the lawns quickly filled with all manner of vehicles. There were a few owner clubs displaying their Capris, Stags, MGs and Herald 13/60s. (See, I’m not the only mad one).

This year’s show was much larger than previous year’s thanks to Keith Palmer’s continued organising in the West Country. He also organises the Worle show later in the year. There was very little in the auto jumble way but an extra stall or two selling model cars and books. A little late, but happy to see, were the C.A.R.L team who managed to park near us, brought our Club cars up to ten.

In all, a nice start to the season only being spoilt by Beryl who had to supply Sylvia with yet another Eeyore.
