At 0930 6 Classic and 4 Modern cars met up at Forge Lane, as arranged with those who had booked a meal. As the weather was not very good to us at the start, the brave one, fool, in the Herald, put his hood up before being led by Kingsley to the Ewenny Potteries for a coffee and chat.

The journey went well without incident with my fingers crossed, hoping I would not break down yet again. Another member met us at Ewenny but later decided to give the meal a miss. With our thirsts quenched and a couple of bellies lined with breakfast, we set off to Porthcawl. Our route took us along the coast through Ogmore with only minor incidents. Tony & Jane in their Clio, thought they would go their own way, but soon realised it was best to follow us. CBs, mobiles and radios came into play to get us back together again. Haydn thought he was back on the farm herding his sheep as he decided to do a couple of laps around a roundabout.

Fun and games over, we soon arrived at the Seabank Hotel for our carvery lunch. Our table of 21 was reserved and ready for us. The ladies, in their splendour, the service and meal were of a fabulous standard. The men looked pretty good too. After our meal we bid our farewells with some going home, and others taking a stroll on the sea front. A great day out, well organised, good route & comms and club spirit.

Just for the record, I Did It, I Did It, I Did It, I completed the journey with no breakdowns. Honest. It’s going to be a cracking season.
