| We met at 8.30am on the M4 services as planned. Six cars left en route to Weston where we arrived at 9.45am. The first task was to put up the gazebo which was the first of many laughs that we had as it had been a while since the last time it was erected. After a bit of confusion on how to put it together as usual we had to rely on the expertise of Keith to step in to help. Just as we finished the boys had arrived, Bob,
Carl and Tony and by luck they had managed to park alongside us.
The weather was fantastic and the number of people on the day viewing the cars were in their hundreds. A new land mark, the Weston eye, had certainly made it's money for the day as there were queues all day for it. We did have a competition for the day which was guess how many times your car would have it's picture taken. I had one taken (I am curious as to why). Francis had the most (what more would you expect) but we were all baffled why somebody had taken over ten
minutes to take pictures of Tony Newton's car (I will leave that one to you to work out). As time went on in good team spirit we talked about the forthcoming shows with the different fun factors we had last year.
We all felt it was a great show to start off with and what made it more special was the weather and attendance levels. Here's hoping for more better weather this season and the good times.
