GWENT MG OWNERS CLUB

St Roses School, Stroud

26th April 2009

We met at Aust services as planned for 9am where 15 cars met.  We left the services and split into 2 groups and arrived at Stroud at 9.45am then began setting up the gazebo with a lot less effort this time.  Next the barbecue was set up and Sue and her army of chefs got to work with the preparation of the food ready for lunch time.

We had a good position where we lined up effortlessly, apart from trying to muscle in on the Jaguar section.  We waited for the Isle of Wight Club to arrive and boy did they arrive in style, with a police escort because they had lost their way and couldn't find their way through the road closure.

The grounds of the school were beautiful and there were plenty of cars to see and there were stalls to buy bits and pieces.  The plant stall did very well with our club buying up half their stock.  Several of our cars left, looking like garden centres on wheels.  Tony was especially happy about this.  The weather most of the day was sunny and quite warm until 3.30pm when it was decided to put everything away and make our own way home.

We would like to thank the MG IOW Club for joining us for the day. After speaking to Ray he assured us that they had a wonderful time.  He asked me to pass on his thanks to everyone in our club for making them feel so welcome.  We would all like to extend our thanks to Sue, Lorraine and chefs for organising a superb barbecue.

Here's to the next show!!
