GWENT MG OWNERS CLUB

Pencoed College

10th May 2009

We met at two meeting points, Forge Lane and Coryton, where we had a short distance to drive to the Pencoed Show. Altogether there were thirteen cars.

From the start the atmosphere was good as was the weather, the best so far. We arrived at the show where we had a good position. We lined up then it was time to start erecting the gazebo. It was much easier to put up the gazebo this time as Richard had spent time fixing the frame - thanks Richard for your time and effort.

Because of the nice weather we had a fabulous day. There were plenty of autojumbles, good selection of classic cars and also a small fair ( no goldfish on this event!! ). We met a gentleman who is interested in joining our club. Let's hope we see him next club night. During the day, as always, we had one or two mishaps but one in particular - Richard had bought a distributor cap and decided to fit it to his car.  Everything was fine until he tried to start the car. To Richard's dismay he had left the lead off the coil. I don't think too many people knew at the time, but they do now.

As the day went on the dogs had their usual walks by their owners and the rest of us had a walk around the show. There was plenty to see and do. During the day Sue and Beryl were not very well. Sue had slept most of the day and Beryl seemed to recover slightly when the red stuff was poured into her glass. Let's hope they are both fighting fit now. Queuing up for the plaques had taken some time but after the trophies were awarded for the best car etc it was time to collect them then to start packing up after a wonderful day.
