On arrival at Forge Lane , Darren, was eagerly waiting for our trip. Tony F. arrived shortly afterwards and after a quick plan of action it was decided that I was to lead, travelling via the M4/M5. At 0915hrs, Tony, Darren and myself started our journey with hoods down, sat nav set and me hoping it would not be my turn to break down again.

The journey went well with no incidents en-route, but I  thought the motorway route was not the best decision, preferring the slower route. An earlier morning set off would have been the better option in my humble opinion. The sat nav did well in getting us to the supplied post code which unfortunately turned out to be some ones front garden. Thankfully for me it was not totally my fault as another two Triumphs who had the same post code had followed us through the town. A couple of u-turns and the directions from a local soon had us on the right road taking us to the show ground.

On arrival, we were greeted by Mike Carter (Organiser) who directed us to our positions amongst rows of Triumphs. No sooner had we parked, Darren, having a full bladder made a hasty run to the nearest toilets. (He should have gone before setting off, there’s no telling these kids).

Back at the cars, we set up camp and settled down for a cuppa and a chat. A few of the TSSC members had gone on a short run and soon returned filling in the gaps. There was now in excess of 35 cars, mainly Triumphs, with some very nice examples of the Vitesse, a nice MG B Roadster, (shame about the colour), a Ford Granada, Morris Minors and a couple of Austins. The WAC display was well lined up and organised with the TSSC club stand selling some parts and regalia.

The hoods went up with a short spell of heavy rain but this soon passed.
After a look around the shopping village and animal sanctuary it was time for the presentations and raffle. We packed away, bid our farewells to the organisers and decided that Tony would lead us home missing the motorways. Tony took us on a great route of winding roads and lanes but missed the “road ahead closed” signs. Tony, undeterred, weaved us through fallen trees and traffic cones before coming to a dead end. As there was now a large lorry behind us, we all pulled over to turn around. On seeing the lorry drove over the cones and thus making a path for us we decided to follow on much to the upset of someone shouting “Oi” at us. A mile or so later we arrived at the “Hope & Anchor” where two weeks earlier I had fuel problems and chugged home and where Lester lost his clutch. (He should be more careful, we couldn’t find it anywhere). After an hour or so we all agreed that it was a pretty good show and day out, before setting off home.
