Three cars met up at McDonalds at the Coldra. We made out way to the show at Cwmbran. As we approached it was well signposted and we made our way to the far end of the field. The field was larger than we anticipated and was bordered by a lovely stream and a railway. This was perfect for walking. We had plenty of room to park and put up our gazebo and the flag.
The weather was stunning and there was plenty to do during the day. There was a fair, various displays, military vehicles and classic cars and the ‘It’s a Knockout’ competition. There were live bands, including an Elvis impersonator.
As we were so close to the Town Centre we decided to go to the local Wetherspoons for lunch. The ladies finished off lunch with a jug of cocktail called ‘Jelly Belly’. After staggering back to the field we lazed around in the sun, listening to more music. When the music became ‘more modern’ we decided to head for home.
A good day was had by all, except when Wayne’s tax disc blew off on the way home. Looking forward to next year as the venue was fantastic.
