GWENT MG OWNERS CLUB

Weston-super-Mare RNLI Show

21st September 2008

Unfortunately with the old Severn bridge closed some re-direction of course was necessary and eventually we met at the Magor Services to commence our run to Weston. The day was sunny for a change and we all started putting up the shelter.  Someone brought the sign but alas the others who were at Tonyrefail had the bunting and the flags.  The other members went to represent the club at Tonyrefail.  A very undecided show; first it was on, and then it was off and then on again.  (See Report on the web)

Originally the Weston RNLI show was rumoured to be charged £5 to enter but this was not asked for, only donations if you wanted to.  In all we had 12 cars, some adopted on the day, all good friends, contributing in some way to make the day go with a swing. The boys spent a few hours demonstrating how to tune Toni’s car.

Had we known the tide was up at Weston we would have brought our bathers.  The show was very well supported and they were even lining up the middle of the lawns. This was probably due to cancellation of Tredegar House show.  Toni and Ang went off for lunch in town, Bez and Helen/Wayne went to do a bit of shopping (as the shopping mall was  open) and Adrian/Ann went to their favourite diner.  We all packed up at 4 p.m. and with our plaques and RNLI goody bags we all left contented that at last we had a nice sunny day.  Keith and I went home a little later after dinner with the relations.
