The Pendine Dash recognises the need to raise funds for a very worthwhile cancer charity and always attracts a field of some 120 MG cars. It is organised by Pembrokeshire MG Car Club.

The route this year, albeit predominately consisting of single track roads, had to be negotiated with prudence and careful navigation covering some 75 miles. The recent rain and prevailing weather conditions only added to the challenge. All those taking part and spoken with, thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had nothing but praise for the organisers.

Everyone who successfully completed the run was rewarded with a 'Welsh Tea' before witnessing the arrival of a police authority helicopter. - Rumour had it that it had been summoned by the local 'Plod' in an effort to apprehend a brace of lively TCs that had left their traffic car for 'dead' following a spirited chase.

Huw and self (Morris) took part with the MGC but it was interesting to note that participants came from afar afield as Hants., N.Yorks., Berks., Worcs., Wilts., Cheshire., Lincs., and S. Ireland to mention just a few of the long distance travellers. All had been willing to give of their time and funds, irrespective of the forecasted weather and anticipated abuse to their cherished cars. It may be that some felt obliged to support such a charity because of personal experience but it is gratifying to know that the MG badge certainly retains it's attraction amongst all car enthusiasts.
