We met a Forge lane on a cold, dry but windy morning. Only Steve in the TR was brave enough to put the top down. While we waited for everyone to arrive Hayden was seen to be showing off the new addition to his car – A Fancy Radio. It was then time to go with Sue leading in her BGT. But had anyone told her we were to collect two more cars on the way? As we approached the Severn Bridge, Hadyn was seen to pull out to try and
herd Sue down the slip road off the M4, but it was too late she was gone. So it was left to us at the back to leave the M4, meet up with the 2 cars and then gather at the Severn Services. While all this was going on, we were aware of an unusually large number of motorbikes, all heading for the Severn Services where a charity rally was being held for 2,000 motorbikes which must have taken some organising.
So, all together again, off we go to Evesham Country Park. The show was organised by the Triumph Six Club so was mainly Triumph cars. After parking up it was noticed that the pair in the topless TR were jumping up and down trying to warm up. Luckily we had erected the shelter which gave us some respite from the very cold wind.
After a warm drink and a snack most of us disappeared into the shopping complex only to re-appear much later with large bulging plastic bags. Later on after Lunch some of us went on the l6 Gauge Model Railway for a trip round the country park. These large model loco’s were quite impressive and very well looked after as was the rest of the rolling stock and buildings.
It was soon time to pack up get into our warm cars and head for home, some via the motorway and some via the scenic route although a certain TR was spotted going back toward the showground. Maybe he forgot his trophy ! Report by Keith
