We all met at the Harvest, Pontypool although a bit apprehensive as to the weather situation. Leaving on the dot of 8 a.m. were Francis & Beryl, Wayne, Phil, Kingsley & Vanessa, Tony & Angela, Brian & Sylvia. The red baron led the way although he had some clutching problems with his car. I think we were 2nd there and we had a pick of the field - not even anyone on the gate.
Later on the rain got worse and at the least the club dogs “Tia” and “Nina” had their raincoats on. There was a motorbike looking thing which reminded me of the two fat ladies. They were drenched to the skin as there was no hood to protect them from the elements. Some hugely long American Cars arrived during the morning and several Police panda cars. I think in all there were only 50 cars in all. There were plenty of traders but unfortunately
the rain was relentless and as we all were wet thro’ we decided to go home early.
Wayne’s clutching problem was sorted out in Tony Flynn’s garage. Thanks Tony. Let us all pray for fine weather for our show in July.
