We met at the Harvester at nine o’clock - three cars. This was day two. Most of the others went on the Sunday - see report. The rain was pouring down, we got on the site at the baths end as we still are not allowed on the rugby pitch and the stewards were pleased to see us as the support for the show was very poor. I parked under a tree and you could hardly see my car for falling leaves. Adrian and his wife turned out
and so did Tony making five from the club.
We had a walk around the town looking for wellies as the mud was up to our ankles. A couple of walks around the trade stands and a sign caught our eye - it read "Wanted Customers no experience needed". That tickled Sue so she went in and bought some dust caps for her car.
The rain eased off and we all gave a sigh of relief, but it started again with vengeance. Phil chose GMGOC car of the show and chose an Alvis that cost £40,000 to do up, see photos (to follow). Lynda and Sylvia wore ponchos that made them look silly but kept them dry. We were given plaques for turning up but really they should have been inflatable boats. This show really is a good show and well organized. It is a shame that it has
rained so hard for the last two years. Wet, cold and tired we headed for home at 1330 and the others soon followed.
This has made Scolton manor next week all the more exiting and worth waiting for, Roll on the Summer..
