| We met at the usual place at 9.39 am for the short journey to Neath, down the M4. We stopped at the services so the hoods could be put up because there were spots of rain in the air, but most of the convertibles wanted to push on. It was only after we turned off at J43 that the problems started between me and the satnav. I managed to get everybody lost - as we were going around a roundabout some were still coming along the road but we were good - we waved to them as we
went passed in the other direction. Arriving at 11am for what should have been an hour's journey we all had a laugh. Lori had phoned me to say slow down as some of the cars were way back having got lost in the services and ending up at the fuel station but when I slowed down Lynda phoned to ask if everything was ok and why we slowed down ( I don't like leading).
Thirteen cars lined up in the end and we had a good spot, which was lucky as there was not a lot of space and to get to where we parked was like a maze. There was a lot going on and the PA system was going most of the day entertaining the children playing games and such. We were invited to the V.I.P tent where Skewen club had put on a buffet. The food was good but we had to hold Lorraine away from the wine. We did let her have one glass though. The auto jumble was small
but good and they did have some stuff for a Ford Pop that Brian managed to buy. Other stalls had toys and bric-a-brac to sell.
The weather was good to us and it turned into a very hot day. The tables were spread out along the line of cars but soon we were seated altogether having a good natter and taking the mick out of Bezz with a double ZZ - sorry Bez. As normal the cars were inspected one by one each one pulled apart. Wayne fitted a new number plate with side lights looked ok but he needs to drill new hole for the screws or buy a new plate this will be done by next week I am sure.
Soon it was time to collect plaques and start the journey home reminding everybody of the club meeting next Thursday.
