| What a good turn out. 26 people sat down to eat at the Coach & Horses. The day was hilarious. Meeting at the Crown we all set off together heading for our first stop which was for tea at the Old School Room at Defynnog. It was not until half way there that we realised we were two cars short; one had broken down and the other stayed behind to help. After tea we left together for Coach & Horses,
Llangynidr, with the lead car using a GPS and the rest feeling safe that the way was mapped out. If only a Sat Nav could say "its not my fault" as cars were going in all directions turning around a small Island at Crickhowell with onlookers looking on in bewilderment and us holding up the traffic {well we knew which way to go- Roger}. You could not hear the engines above the laughter.
When we arrived at the pub there was a brief breakdown of what had happened and which car went which way. I am glad to say that the car that had broken down and his helper were already there. The meal was one to remember with a great selection of veggies and tender well cooked meat. I am pleased to say the day was a great success so top marks to the organisers. Members Chris Trego and Les Mitchell met us there, although they did not stop for lunch which
was a shame. After lunch a “few of us” strolled along the canal to see the canal boats and enjoy the scenery. |
