Merthyr Tydfil Classic Car Show
Cyfartha Castle, 9th July 2006

15 cars in attendance even though the weather was wet and cloudy. It managed to brighten up in the afternoon and when the sun did manage to cut through the cloud it was quite warm, so for the first time there were more people sitting inside the gazebo than outside.

There was plenty to see while we were there including the display of hawks, owls and other birds of the feathered kind. The walk to the castle seemed a fair way but it was worth it. The auto jumble was as usual rubbish at a high price, but if they had the part you were looking for it may have been your lucky day.

One member who will remain nameless made us all laugh by pouring his hot water through the whistle of his kettle, but at least he was not carrying a donkey on his back. Maybe next time? There was a raffle and one member won a prize of a screen sun shade. Maybe that's why there was a lack of sun.

On the way home whilst following an Austin Healey we managed to take a wrong turn at a roundabout and had to do a u-turn. Even without a sat nav we get lost. We did manage to have a meeting about the coming BBQ and it was decided that we take out own food and the club would supply the charcoal. So it was a good day with lots of laughter.
