12 Cars met at the Harvester at 10.00am. We set off for the journey to Blaenavon in a line. It looked really good from the tail end of them all.
At the rally we were told we could have as much tea or coffee as we liked. It was a bit chilly up there so the free train ride to the pub was really welcome to warm us up.
The cars that were there must have doubled in a year, so although this was only the fourth transport rally, you can see that it is taking off. Let's hope it gets bigger next year.
There was a free ride to the big pit on an old bus and that was fun. Also for the children, there was a man with a kind of rickshaw on a push bike and he was doing that for free also. I felt sorry for him, but it keeps him fit he says. Some of the gang stayed up the pub for lunch and said the meal was very good. We never got the chairs out as it was too cold to sit around but it was sunny and dry and the frequent visits to the cafe made
it all worthwhile.
On the way home some went to Abertillery and some went back Pontypool way.
